1. What are the basic requirements to be a Study Abroad student?

You must be at least 18 years of age at the beginning of the
program.

You must have completed 12 units of college credit.
-
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 at
the time you apply.

You must have completed English 100 or
equivalent with a grade of “C” or better by the
beginning of the program.
2. What
is involved in the application process?
Application Process:
A complete application packet will include a Study Abroad application
form, a travel vendor registration form, a deposit check or
money order (payable to the travel vendor), and a copy of college
transcripts. Please
submit all these materials at the same time to the Study Abroad
Coordinator. Students
are encouraged to submit completed forms, transcripts, and deposit
as soon as possible.
Here is a list of the Application Materials:

Submit the completed Study Abroad application form,
which includes a travel vendor registration form available
in the following places: 1) online 2)
in the Fullerton College Study Abroad Office, Building 100,
First Floor; and 3) in the Fullerton College Library.

Submit a copy of all college transcripts (unofficial
transcripts are acceptable, including printouts from WebStar).

Interview: Students with completed
applications meeting all the requirements will be contacted
for a personal interview.

Selection Process: A selection committee
will meet to review each application, transcripts, and interview
report. Provisional
Acceptance: Students who have not completed
12 units and/or English 100 or equivalent may be accepted
provisionally, provided the English 100 course is in progress
and the 12 units will be completed before the program start
date.

Deadline: Applications will be accepted
until all openings are filled. The Study Abroad
Program has a limited enrollment. Please submit your
materials as soon as possible.

- Application Form for Study Abroad Program
- Travel Vendor Registration Form

3. What
expenses can a Study Abroad student be expected to have?
The following expenses are
the responsibility of the student:
- The total amount of the program cost, as listed in the
vendor's
contract. This amount includes airfare, housing, and excursions.
- Tuition and books.
- The North Orange County Community College
District requires students in its Study Abroad Program to obtain
additional insurance. Cost to the student has been around

- Food and miscellaneous expenses while on site.
- Personal travel not included in the contract.
